Theme: Surrendering shame, fear, guilt, and expectations
Hey Truthwalker,
Every flight has baggage.
But emotional and spiritual baggage? That’s the kind that delays destiny. Old wounds, fears, guilt, shame, and we can go on and on.
Let me ask you this:
What’s in your suitcase right now? What did you pack for this trip? Is it over the 50 lb limit?
Not the cute carry-on you packed for brunch or travel—but the spiritual one. The one God keeps asking you to unpack so you can reason together (Isaiah 1:18)
Let Me Be Real With You
There was a time I carried guilt so quietly it felt normal.
I showed up for everyone else—but I wouldn’t sit still long enough to ask myself what I needed.
I thought being strong meant never putting the bags down.
Truth was….I was tired.
Tired of holding grief.
Tired of carrying others’ expectations.
Tired of pretending I didn’t need rest and saying “I’m okay.”
And God, in His tenderness, said:
“Daughter, you can’t soar when you’re tied to what I already set you free from.” That was a game changer for me. Not immediately but I sat with what God said.
The Word Says:
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
We often spiritualize rest but don’t make space for it. This scripture shows a personal and loving invitation or our Father. He said, “Come to me.” Not when we have it “all figured out.” But come now.
We say “God is my strength” while refusing to admit we’re actually weak.
Rest doesn’t just mean naps. It means releasing what was never meant to be yours.
Blueprint Moment:
What emotional baggage have I packed into this season that God never told me to carry?
Prayer:
Lord, show me what’s weighing me down and whats keeping me from seeing and experiencing you.
Whether it’s shame, a past mistake, or an invisible load—I surrender it.
Teach me to travel light with You. Exchanging my yoke, my will and my thoughts for your yoke is easier to bear and light. Holy Spirit hold me captive until surrendering becomes my first response.
